Stray dogs are always in danger by living out in the streets. This is why animal control and animal rescue organization exist to help these dogs by putting them in shelters and finding people willing to give them a forever home. However, some dogs aren’t so lucky. Because stray dogs are always wandering the streets, a lot of them end up getting hit by speeding vehicles.
About Stray Dog Frankie
A dog named Frankie is a stray dog who was wandering the streets in Oklahoma. She was hit by multiple cars and suffered horrific injuries on her hip. Thankfully, a woman was there who acted immediately as soon as she saw Frankie lying down on the street.
Frankie was so scared after her accident that she refused to move. However, she let the kind-hearted woman carry her to the car and take her to the animal hospital. Thankfully, the woman also visits the Oklahoma State Veterinary Hospital all the time, and she knows how competent the staff there were, which put her mind at ease.
Frankie ended up getting surgery for her hip injuries. The woman who took Frankie to the animal hospital decided to give Frankie a forever home by adopting her.
The woman who rescued and adopted Frankie soon found that Frankie has a playful spirit. Even though Frankie was still recovering from her injuries, she still wanted to play. She even chewed off one of the metal bars on her cage because she wanted to get out.
Understanding that Frankie’s playful nature shouldn’t be suppressed, Frankie’s new mom decided to take Frankie out for a walk. She put a sling around Frankie’s waist to lessen the pressure on her recovering hips while walking.
Despite the pain that Frankie must have felt, she still found a way to have fun. Frankie loves nature and the sun so much that she enjoys laying down on the grass. Frankie would always show her belly as if she’s asking for belly rubs, which she never fails to get from her mom.
Frankie’s mom also took her to the beach to play in the water to help her exercise her recovering legs. It also worked as a rehabilitation activity for Frankie. At first, Frankie hated being in the water. Thankfully, Frankie’s new doggie sister, Lucy, was there to reassure her that it’s fun to play in the water.
Soon enough, Frankie started swimming and playing in the water. Frankie and Lucy became inseparable. The two dogs became best friends and are always together. Whenever Lucy would lay down to sleep, Frankie would find her and sit on her body or lie down next to her.

Eventually, Frankie recovered, and she showed more of her playful side. She loves the attention she gets from people, and Frankie would always demand to get belly rubs and pets from everyone. If she sees Lucy getting pets from people, she will push her way in, also asking to get belly rubs. Here’s an adorable video showing how Frankie found her way home to the perfect family.
